Description

The Matchprint™ deglossing sheet is a double-sided, reusable piece of 0.003-inch (0.08mm) polyester with a matte surface. The deglossing sheet embosses (deglosses) the surface of a Matchprint™ negative or Matchprint™ positive proof as it passes through the laminator. When the deglossed proof has cooled, the deglossing sheet is removed leaving the proof with a finish similar to a printed sheet.

 
When to Degloss

• Degloss a Matchprint™ negative proof when the proof is complete ­ after the last color is processed.
• Degloss a Matchprint™ positive proof when the proof is complete ­ after the last color is processed. A Matchprint™ positive proof can be deglossed either before OR after post-exposure.
• Degloss a Matchprint™ transfer proof after final transfer to the desired base stock.

 
How to Degloss

To degloss a finished Matchprint™ proof, use the same lamination procedure you use to laminate a color sheet during the proof-making process.

Note: The deglossing sheet must be the same size, or larger than, the color area of the proof, but NOT larger than the base material.

• For the Model 447 Laminator, place the deglossing sheet on the laminator's upper entrance tray, and place the finished proof on the laminator's lower entrance tray with the color side up. Laminate the materials.
• For the Model 2220 Laminator or Model 2635 Proofer, position the deglossing sheet on the color side of the proof, then feed the materials squarely into the center of the laminator, holding the materials firmly until they begin to laminate.

 
Handling

The Matchprint™ deglossing sheet can be reused until the sheet becomes kinked, scuffed or wrinkled. To prolong use, handle deglossing sheets carefully.
